Vision:
Digital designs inspired by the Nike Air Huarache movement of the early 90s from designer Tinker Hatfield. His ideas were forward thinking at the time. Those qualities are what we identified through the creative direction and design process of the Habaneros x Vans skate shoe. Its all about the urban culture and hip hop music of Habaneros. A brand with customers that include Krept & Konan and influencers from the UK Grime scene.
Brief:
My mission and vision was to create a design that reflects the urban street scene of the modern day, mixed with the foods and entertainment that represent this culture. Collectively, the ultimate goal was to make each brand's followers happy and emotionally connected to the launch of the shoes.
Outcome:
The hard orange palette and latin american influenced patch work, is what came out of the mood board concepts. A decision decided collectively. Early results are looking positive with our project managers (client side), happy and proud to share and distribute early releases of these products to their teams and customers. The first products reached an audience of over 1000 people on launch day.
